Through MiDA’s expansive network and valuable partnerships with institutional investors, we specialize in providing capacity development and education to U.S. and African institutional investors for investment opportunities in infrastructure and other alternatives.
From the origins of the USAID-NASP Investment Partnership, MiDA is leading the largest U.S. asset owners mobilization initiative for investing in infrastructure in Africa; and have partnered with Kenyan and South African pension funds to increase their capacity to invest in alternatives.
During the last four years, MiDA’s asset owners mobilization and capacity support efforts have yielded over $1 billion in new commitments from U.S. institutional investors into Africa and other emerging markets.
MiDA partners with development agencies and financial institutions – including USAID, the World Bank, and the United Nations – on development programs that advance sustainable and impact investing in Africa and other emerging markets; and support the use of blended finance products to scale capital flow from institutional investors. We specialize in supporting sustainable investments in infrastructure and local enterprises that drive job creation, while providing attractive risk-adjusted returns to international and local institutional investors.
Over the last four years, MiDA has led the implementation of USAID’s institutional investor initiatives in Africa; partnered with the World Bank on infrastructure investing programs in Kenya and South Africa; supported the G20 institutional investors agenda on sustainable investing; and provided advisory services to the United Nations Economic Commission on Africa (UNECA) on African pension funds regulations for cross-border investments.
