Our practice areas
Through MiDA’s expansive network and valuable partnerships with institutional investors, we specialize in providing capacity development and education to U.S. and African institutional investors for investment opportunities in infrastructure and other alternatives.
Since 2017, U.S. and African Institutional Investors have mobilized over U.S. $1.54 billion in investments through MiDA Advisors’ efforts.

Supporting the Pension Funds Industry in Africa
MiDA Advisors has supported regional pension fund collaborations to drive long-term infrastructure and alternative asset investments. We served as lead advisor to the Kenya Pension Fund Investment Consortium (KEPFIC), helping 18 member funds participate in an oversubscribed $20 million road development project and providing tailored technical assistance, pipeline review, and due diligence support. In South Africa, we advised the Asset Owners Forum of South Africa (AOFSA)—a pioneering partnership of regional pension funds representing around $177 billion AUM—helping members commit over $460 million to local infrastructure projects, including $160 million to a pipeline developed by MiDA.

Institutional Investor Educational Delegation Trip to Africa
Since 2017, MiDA Advisors has supported seven Institutional Investor Educational Delegation Trips to Africa, including South Africa, Kenya, Senegal, and Egypt, in collaboration with the U.S. government. Participants of delegation trips represented over $4.3 trillion under management/advisement and hailed from across the U.S. and Africa.
These delegation trips are intended to build relationships, educate participants about the investment landscape in Africa, and introduce bankable investment opportunities. A critical aspect of these delegation trips is focused on building relationships between U.S. institutional investors, their African counterparts, consultants, and African fund managers.

Engagement with Industry Partners and African Leaders
MiDA Advisors actively participates in global industry events to promote investment in Africa. Team members have spoken at conferences such as the NASP Annual Financial Services Conference, SACRS Fall Conference, the Milken Institute Global Conference and Middle East and Africa Summit, and the NYC Comptroller Emerging Managers Conference.
Through these convenings and other engagements, MiDA explores strategic investments in infrastructure, housing, and sustainable development, reinforcing its role in mobilizing financing for critical projects and advancing impactful investment opportunities across the continent.

Women Empowerment Mentoring and Incubation Program (WE>MI)
WE>MI was launched in June 2021 to increase the number of investable women-owned and women-managed fund managers in Southern Africa. Funded by the U.S. government and implemented by MiDA Advisors in partnership with the Southern Africa Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SAVCA), the program offered technical assistance and investment facilitation support to participating managers.
Through connections facilitated by MiDA Advisors, cohort members gained the skills required to be successful managers and cultivated relationships with resource partners and investors in the U.S., Africa, and internationally. By the end of the program, over $21 million was committed to cohort members by institutional investors.
